Boracay Island is the Philippines’ premier holiday destination and pretty sure it is included in those popular ‘1,000 Places To Visit Before You Die’ books you see at airports gift shops.
With a land area of about 10.32 km², Boracay is very easy to explore in a day. If you’re new to traveling or been planning to spend a holiday there soon, here are the places you should check out during your first visit.
Crystal Cove – A popular snorkeling destination between Boracay and Caticlan. To reach the island, you have to board a boat. Be treated to an underwater world filled with limestones, corals, and other marine life.
Bat Cave – To get here you will to hire a local to guide you through a few dirt roads and a forest.
Crocodile Island – A small, uninhabited piece of haven shaped like a croc’s head. Newbies and experience divers will both enjoy the incredible underwater scene and marine life here.
Willy’s Rock – This iconic rock can be found on the northern end of Boat Station 1. In the morning when the tide is low, it is a popular spot for religious locals because of the statue of the Virgin Mary at the grotto. During afternoons and sunsets, people go here merely for taking perfect selfies.
D’Mall de Boracay – The shopping, dining, and entertainment hub of the island. You could buy anything here– from souvenirs, beachwear, and even personal items to paddle boards and henna tattoos.
Talipapa – The local market is where you’ll find the freshest vegetable and seafood in the island. After buying, you could have your fish, prawns, and other groceries cooked for a small amount.
Oceanarium – Located at Crown Regency Resort & Convention Center, the lone oceanarium in the island is truly a sight to behold. This is a popular destination for kids and the young at heart.
Puka Beach – Hire a boat for a day trip and head out to the other side of Boracay where the sands are thicker and the waters are bluer. This uninhabited cove is a breath of fresh air from the usually crowded White Beach.
All the places mentioned above can be reached via a short tricycle ride or through local establishments offering island hopping adventures. You also have the option of booking your adventures through your hotel’s tour desk. Boracay Haven Suites, for example, features a 24-hour front desk where you can schedule your day trips and island hopping activities. This Boracay accommodation Station 1 also offers amazing Boracay hotel packages and other promotions you will surely enjoy.
