When we plan a trip to the Maldives, our itinerary doesn’t usually list more than just two items: lounge about on the beach and then lounge about in the villa. It’s such a relaxing place to be in that lazing about is just about the perfect thing to do to shed off that city stress. But honestly, there are a few other things to do than to take a dip in the sea.
Don’t believe us?
While you’re browsing through available airline tickets and Maldives packages (because you know you want to go there now), here is a list of exciting activities you can enjoy on your trip.
Filming or photo shoots at the beach
The Maldives provides the perfect backdrop for films and photographs. Just think about all the shots you can take with the white sandy beaches and sparkling blue waters if the Indian Ocean. There have been quite a lot of underwater documentaries filmed in the archipelago like Maldive: Diving Paradise.
You can create your own film here, if you want. It doesn’t even need to be a professional film; it could just be a montage of you and your friends hanging out together, with a crazy cool tune playing in the background. Or you can take this opportunity to fill your Instagram pictures of one-of-a-kind shots of the island.
Pro-tip: There are about 2000 species of fish and corals housed in reefs, and you will have the opportunity to swim with them in the Maldives. So why not capture the moment by taking underwater pictures? If you have a drone with you, you can take an aerial picture of the islands.
Submarine rides
If you can’t swim along with the fishes, don’t worry, there are other ways to see the diverse marine creatures that can only be found in the waters of Maldives. A submarine ride is actually one of the most comfortable ways to explore the undersea treasures. The submarine will take you 45 metres underwater, giving you a sweet glimpse of the different coral kingdoms and various marine fishes.
Manta, Dolphin, and Whale watching
One of the best things about the Maldives is it’s a hotspot for Manta Rays, Dolphins, and Whales. As of this time, there are over 23 different genuses of dolphins and whales have been recorded to live in the Maldives. You can take a cruise to see them swimming along specific regions of the archipelago. But you’ll be very lucky if you’re staying at a resort at the Southern Ari Atoll, like the Ranveli Island Resort, because of these species swim in those waters. Among the regions include Gaafu Dhaal Atoll, Thaa Atoll, Addu, Atoll, North Male Atoll, Haa Atoll, and Baa Atoll.
Sunset cruise
Another cruise trip is on the way when you’re in the Maldives, but this time, set the course towards the setting sun. The Maldives is known for its most picturesque views of the sun setting on the horizon. If you are lucky, you’ll be able to see it while the dolphins, whales, and manta rays are swimming nearby.
Like we’ve mentioned before, Southern Ari Atoll is one of the best regions to be in to enjoy all that Maldives has. Check out Ranveli Island Resort all its promotions, you might see a promo discount or two that fits your vacation budget.
Come on down to the Maldives and experience a slice of paradise on earth.
